Biography:
Oscar Tusquets Blanca, also known as Òscar Tusquets i Guillèn, is a Spanish architect born in Barcelona in 1941. He studied at the German School of Barcelona, the Escola de la Llotja, and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, where he graduated in 1965. Tusquets worked in the studio of Federico Correa and Alfons Milà i Sagnier, and in 1964 he established Studio PER with Josep Bonet i Bertran, Cristian Cirici i Alomar, and Lluís Clotet i Ballús. He collaborated with them until 1984. Tusquets is known for his concept of design as a creative task inserted within the corresponding cultural framework. In 1968, he founded Tusquets Editores with Beatriz de Moura. Tusquets has received numerous awards for his work, including the Premio Nacional de Diseño in 1988 and the Creu de Sant Jordi in 1987.
