Biography:
Ada Peldavičiūtė-Montvydienė (1911–1967) was a Lithuanian artist. She studied at the Kaunas Art School and later at the Florence Academy of Fine Arts. Peldavičiūtė-Montvydienė was known for her portraits, which often featured elegant and elongated figures. Her style was influenced by Italian and German neoclassicism. She participated in several exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad before moving to Austria and later to the United States. Peldavičiūtė-Montvydienė's work is characterized by a balance between sentimentality and the energy of her subjects, which she conveyed through her use of color and composition.
