Amílcar Augusto Pereira De Castro
was a Brazilian artist, sculptor, and graphic designer born in Paraisópolis, Minas Gerais, Brazil on June 6, 1920. He passed away in Belo Horizonte, Brazil on November 21, 2002. De Castro was the oldest of seven children and was mentored by the Brazilian modernist painter Alberto da Veiga Guignard.
De Castro began his artistic career as a graphic designer, but soon shifted his focus to sculpture and painting.
