Biography:
André Robert Breton was a French writer and poet who co-founded the surrealism movement. He is best known for his works such as Nadja and L'Amour fou. His writings include the first Surrealist Manifesto of 1924, in which he defined surrealism as 'pure psychic automatism'. Breton was a major figure in twentieth-century French art and literature.
