Biography:
Roberto Leal, also known as António Joaquim Fernandes, was a Portuguese singer, songwriter, and actor born in Macedo de Cavaleiros, Portugal, in 1951. He sold over 15 million albums and received 30 golden records and 5 platinum records. Leal wrote and produced most of his songs, with some of his best-known works including 'Bate o Pé', 'Clareou', 'O Vinho de Meu Amor', and 'Marrabenta'. He also released albums in both Portuguese and Mirandese in 2007 and 2010. Leal was known for his dynamic vocal range and exceptional dancing skills. He passed away in 2019 due to kidney failure caused by complications from an allergic reaction during his cancer treatment.
