Biography:
Antonija Krasnik was born in Lovinac, Croatia in 1874 and died in Zagreb, Croatia in 1956. She was a Croatian artist who worked with the famous Viennese company E. Bakalowits Söhne, which was founded in 1845 by Elias Bakalowits. Krasnik was one of the most successful graduates of Koloman Moser and a large number of important designs are of hers. She was known for her work in silver and her designs for vases. She was also known for her work with the decor Syrius Optisch, which was made exclusively for Bakalowits in Vienna by Loetz. Krasnik's work is held in the collections of the Museum of Arts and Crafts in Zagreb and the British Museum.
