Biography:

Tunga, whose real name is Antonio José Campos dos Santos, was born in Palmares, Brazil in 1952. He is a Brazilian artist known for his sculptures, installations, performances, and drawings. Tunga's work often explores themes of the human body, sexuality, and the relationship between the body and the environment. He has exhibited his work in numerous solo and group exhibitions around the world, and his work is held in the collections of major museums such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. Tunga has also received several awards and honors for his work, including the Grand Prize of the 20th Bienal de São Paulo in 1989. He continues to live and work in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
