Archibald Henry Swinton was a local journalist and author from England. He is known for his work on atmospheric observations made in Guildford, Surrey after the eruption of Krakatoa volcano in 1883. His collection of watercolors depicting the afterglow effects were widely recognized and appreciated by many casual observers.
