Biography:

Arpád Račko was a Slovak sculptor born in Szolnok, Hungary in 1930 and died in Košice, Slovakia in 2015. He studied at the prestigious Academy of Creative Arts in Prague in the art studio of professor Jan Lauda. Arpád Račko has created dozens of sculptures, plastic arts, portraits and reliefs. His most famous work is the monument representing the arms of the city of Košice, which was inaugurated in 2002 on Hlavná ulica (Main Street) in Košice.
