Biography:
Barbara Bańda is a Polish visual artist involved in painting and object art, born on May 1, 1980, in Zielona Góra, Poland. She studied at the Akademy of Fine Arts in Poznań from 2001 to 2006 and received her doctorate from the Akademy of Fine Arts in Katowice in 2018. Since 2008, she has been an assistant lecturer at the Studio of Painting at the University in Zielona Góra.
Bańda's work often explores themes of sexuality and features delicate, feminine color palettes. She has exhibited her works both individually and collectively in Poland and Germany. In 2008, she received the Arteon magazine award, becoming the first woman to receive this honor. In 2010, she ranked fourth in the 'Rzeczpospolitej' Kompas Młodej Sztuki ranking.
