Biography:

Barbara Sokołowska is a Polish artist, born in 1961 in Giżycko, Poland. She is a photographer, organizer of exhibitions, and publicist. She was born into an intellectual family and is one of the many Poles from Wilenszczyzna who settled in Giżycko after the war. She decided to keep her maiden name after marriage, in memory of her father. She currently teaches at the Warsaw Academy of Photography and is also known for her work in the field of visual arts.
