Biography:
Bartolomeu Costa Cabral was a Portuguese architect born in Lisbon in 1929 and died in 2024. He was considered one of the leading figures of the modern movement in Portuguese architecture. Costa Cabral was a teacher at the School of Fine Arts in Lisbon and held executive positions at the National Union of Architects and the Portuguese Section of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA). In 2019, he received the AICA Prize. In 2022, he was awarded the rank of Grande-Oficial of the Order of the Infante D. Henrique by the President of the Republic. Costa Cabral's architecture reflects the ethical and humanist dimension of its author.
