Rukmini Varma is an Indian artist born in Travancore, India in 1940. She is also known as Bharani Thirunal Rukmini Bayi Maharani of Travancore. She is a member of the Travancore Royal Family and is the granddaughter of Maharani Sethu Lakshmi Bayi. Her great great grandfather was Raja Ravi Varma. She is a painter and is the founder of the Raja Ravi Varma Heritage Foundation in Bangalore. She is also the Attingal Mootha Thampuran and the Maharani of Travancore. She is currently the female head of the Travancore royal family and is considered the Attingal Rani and the titular Maharani of Travancore. She is married to Devi Prasad Varma and has two sons, Venugopal Varma and Jaygopal Varma.
