Biography:

Carlos Terrés is a Mexican artist born in Chetumal, Mexico in 1975. He is known for his mural 'Señor del Maguey y Mayahuel' created in 2012. Terrés uses virtual prototyping in his artistic process, combining computer-aided design, computer-automated design, and computer-aided engineering software to validate his designs before committing to making a physical prototype. He is dedicated to creating 3D computer-generated geometrical shapes and assemblies, which he tests for mechanical motions, fit, and function. Terrés also uses CAE software to simulate the behavior of his creations in the real world. His work is influenced by his cultural heritage and the Maya Lowlands, where he grew up. He is also inspired by the Catholic faith and the Virgin Mary, who is the patroness saint of Mexico and a symbol of religious faith and female empowerment. Terrés' work is a reflection of his beliefs and cultural identity, and he continues to create art that celebrates his heritage and faith.
