Biography:
Marcello Jori was born in Merano, Italy in 1951. He is an Italian painter, photographer, and writer. In the early 1970s, he studied history of art in Bologna where he met Renato Barilli who curated his first exhibition in 1977 at Galleria de Foscherari in Bologna. Marcello Jori has participated in several international exhibitions including three Venice Biennales, Paris Biennale, and two Rome Quadriennales. He has shown his work in various galleries and museums such as the Modern Art Gallery in Rome, Studio Morra and Trisorio Gallery in Naples, Castel Sant'Elmo in Naples, Studio Marconi in Milan, Galleria De' Foscherari and Modern Art Gallery in Bologna, Civic Contemporary Art Gallery in Trento, and Hayward Gallery in London. Marcello Jori is a key figure on the Italian art scene.
