Dimitris Harissiadis was a Greek photographer born in Athens in 1911 and died in 1993. He was also known as Charisiades, D. A. (Demetres A.), Harissiadis, D. A. (Dimitris A.), and Charisiades, Demetres. Harissiadis was a European press correspondent who photographed the events of the "Dekemvrianá" and the Civil War in Greece. He also captured the difficult conditions that prevailed during the Axis Occupation. Harissiadis was known for his unique representations of the Second World War and the post-war period in Greece. He was also an autodidact in photography and offered unique perspectives on the industrial landscape of Greece. Harissiadis's work has been exhibited in various institutions, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Art Institute of Chicago.
