Biography:
Daniel Kondratowicz was a Polish painter-portraitist born in Żmudźi, Lithuania in 1765. He died on September 4, 1843, in Warsaw. He was educated at Franciszek Smuglevich's studio in Warsaw and engaged in portrait, historical, and generic painting. From 1824, he held the duties of director of the gallery of paintings by Józef Ossolińsky. He participated in paintings exhibitions in Warsaw in 1819, 1821, and 1823. He was the father of Józef, a lithographer and miniaturist born around 1808 and died around 1860. Daniel Kondratowicz was buried on September 6, 1843, in Powązkowski Cemetery in Warsaw.
