Biography:
Diana Ríos Rengifo is a Peruvian environmental activist and leader of the indigenous community of Saweto. She was born in 1992 in Saweto, a remote village in the Peruvian Amazon. She became an activist after her father, Jorge Ríos Pérez, was murdered in 2014 along with three other community leaders while fighting against illegal logging and deforestation in the region. Since then, she has been working tirelessly to protect the Amazon rainforest and the rights of indigenous communities. She is also a talented artist, known for her murals that depict the beauty and importance of the Amazon and the struggles of its people. In 2018, she created a mural titled 'Untitled' in her hometown of Saweto.
