Biography:
Eugenio Arruti y González-Pola was a Spanish painter. He was born on June 4, 1841, in Luanco, Spain. Arruti studied painting under Carlos de Haes and later became one of the first generation of Basque realist landscape artists. He was known for his ability to capture effects of light and his paintings often featured landscapes from Asturias and Guipúzcoa. Arruti's work has been exhibited in various galleries and museums, including the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in San Sebastián.
