Biography:
Francisco Keil do Amaral was a Portuguese architect, painter and photographer. He stood out in the 1940s and 1950s for his original approach to public works, avoiding identification with the political regime or historicist standards of the Estado Novo. He sought a 'third way' that reconciled modern rationality with thoughtful consideration of traditional architecture's lessons.
