Biography:

Im Kwon-taek is a South Korean film director, dubbed 'the father of Korean cinema'. He was born on December 8, 1934 in Changsong, Cheollanam-do, South Korea. He grew up in the southern city Kwangju, where he completed senior high school. His family suffered considerable hardships and he spent a lot of his adolescence in the streets of Busan. He has directed over 100 films and his works have won many domestic and international film festival awards. He is considered as the ambassador of the Korean cinema in the world.
