Biography:

Isaac Cordal is a Spanish Galician artist born in 1974 in Pontevedra, Spain. He lives in Brussels and Galicia. Cordal studied sculpture at the University of Vigo and later at the College of Arts of Camberwell in London. He is known for his work in sculpture and photography in the urban environment. His most famous project is 'Cement Eclipses', a series of figurines made of concrete that he installs and photographs in different urban settings. The figurines, about 15 cm tall, depict a stereotypical middle-aged man dressed in a suit and carrying a briefcase, in absurd situations in the urban landscape. Cordal's work often invites the viewer to reflect on the role and place of the individual in modern society.
