Biography:

Ivona Žirková is a Slovak artist born in Martin in 1978. She is part of the generation of artists who entered the context of contemporary art after the year 2000. She studied art in Bratislava. Her work is characterized by a creative intertwining between a photorealistic transcription of reality, a geometric expression and a pure abstraction. She collaborates with renowned curators such as Lucia G. Stach, P. Vaňous, V. Beskid, P. Michalovič or the philosopher M. Marcelli, as well as with the next generation of theorists. She currently lives and works in Martin.
