Biography:
Iwona Liegmann is a Polish artist, born in Toruń, Poland in 1971. She graduated from the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Poland in 1993 and completed her MA course at Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen, Scotland in 1996. In 2015, she obtained her Ph.D. degree from the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. Liegmann's art explores the themes of perceptions and manifestations of womanhood and her relation to nature. She is also known for her activism in raising awareness about the situation of farm animals. Liegmann is currently working on a painting project featuring portraits of animal activists.
