Július Koller was a Slovak painter and conceptual artist, born in Piešťany in 1939 and died in Bratislava in 2007. He is considered a pioneer of a 'different' creativity, and his work often explores the relationship between art and everyday life. Koller's art is characterized by a playful and humorous approach, and often incorporates elements of performance and interaction with the audience. He has exhibited in numerous international institutions, including the Tatra Gallery in Slovakia, the Mayor Gallery in London, and the Rencontres d'Arles photography festival in France. Koller's work is also part of the Marinko Sudac Collection, a Croatian collection dedicated to avant-garde and neo-avant-garde practices in Central and Eastern Europe.
