Biography:

Jacob Hart Lazarus was an American painter known for his portraits, figures, genre, and landscape paintings, as well as miniatures. He was born in New York and studied with Henry Inman, in addition to attending the Academy's schools. He was the son of Zipporah Hart and Eleazer Samuel Lazarus, one of eight children.
