Biography:

Jamil Molaeb is a Lebanese artist born in 1948 in Baissour, Lebanon. He studied at the faculty of fine arts of the Lebanese University in Beirut, where he worked under Paul Guiragossian and Chafic Abboud. He spent a year in Algeria in the 1970s and later studied at the Pratt Institute in New York City, where he obtained an MFA.

Artistic Career

Jamil Molaeb's artistic career is marked by his unique style, which shows the influence of Ancient Egyptian, Babylonian, and Sumerian art. He has made drawings, mosaics, sculptures, and wood-cuts as well as paintings. His style is flexible, and he has received a sculpture award from the Sursock Museum in the 1960s.
