Biography:
Jan Juránek was a Czech pedagog, museologist, archivist and regional historian. He was born on 11 May 1910 in Jedlí, Czech Republic. He studied at the pedagogical lyceum in Přerov and later at the VOŠH in Prague, where he graduated with the title DiS. Juránek was known for his work in the field of regional history, particularly in relation to the city of Nové Město nad Metují. He played a significant role in the city being declared a city monument reservation in 1950. Juránek died on 30 December 1999 in Nové Město nad Metují.
