Biography:
Jens-Rüdiger Lorenzen was a German artist born in Hagen, Westfalen, Germany in 1942. He studied at the Kunst+Werkschule (now Hochschule Pforzheim) and later became a professor there. He was one of the early advocates of a new understanding of jewelry in the late 1960s, setting accents with very personal design concepts and materials. Lorenzen's work often combined traditional jewelry techniques with sculptural forms, resulting in unique and innovative pieces. He passed away in 2018.
