Biography:
Jonas Mackevičius was a Lithuanian painter and academic. He studied at the Moscow Art Promotion School, Princess Taniševa's Art Studio, and the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. Mackevičius traveled extensively throughout Europe, including Italy, Germany, France, Spain, and Turkey. He participated in exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad, and was a member of the Lithuanian Artists' Association. Mackevičius is known for his landscapes, portraits, and still-life paintings, which often featured a sense of realism and romanticism. His work can be found in various museums and collections, including the National Museum of Art in Vilnius.
