José Vicente Barbosa du Bocage (May 2, 1823 – December 3, 1907) was a Portuguese zoologist and politician. He was born in Lisbon, Portugal, and died in the same city. Bocage was a prominent naturalist who made significant contributions to the study of African fauna, particularly the specimens collected by the explorer José Alberto de Oliveira Anchieta in Angola. Bocage's work in zoology and politics earned him recognition and honors, including the presidency of the Lisbon Geographical Society and the Order of Saint Michael of the Wing.
