Biography:
Josep Massaguer Sitjà was a Spanish basketball player born in Badalona, Spain on June 24, 1928. He passed away on March 30, 2020. Massaguer started his basketball career with UE Montgat at the age of 14. He was known for his versatility and excellent shooting skills. Massaguer played as a guard and was a member of the Spanish national basketball team. He won several championships with his team, including the Spanish League and the Copa del Rey. Massaguer was also a member of the Spanish team that competed in the 1952 Olympic Games in Helsinki, Finland. After retiring from basketball, Massaguer became a basketball coach and trained several successful teams. He was also a sports commentator and analyst for Spanish television and radio. Massaguer was inducted into the FC Barcelona Players Hall of Fame in 2020.
