Josep Mongay Torné (1826-1902) was a Spanish painter known for his portraits of ships and boats. He was one of the most important painters of the Catalan school of the 19th century, and is particularly famous for his painting 'Fleet of the shipowners Mir & Co.' (1886). Mongay Torné was born in Barcelona and died there in 1902.
