Biography:

Joseph Daniel Böhm was an Austrian sculptor and medallist. He moved to Vienna in 1813 where he studied at the Akademie der bildenden Künste until 1819. During his studies, he began collecting artworks and continued throughout his life. He traveled extensively in Italy between 1821-22, 1825-29, and in 1844. After his death, his collection was sold at auction by his heirs.
