Biography:

Juan Cabré Aguiló was a Spanish archaeologist, draftsman, and photographer. He was born on August 2, 1882, in Calaceite, Spain, and died on the same day in 1947. Cabré began his studies in Tortosa and Zaragoza before moving to Madrid, where he received a scholarship from the Diputación de Teruel. He studied at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando and worked for the Museo del Prado. Cabré's interest in archaeology was influenced by Sebastián Monserrat, a collector of Iberian artifacts. He published his first archaeological work in 1907 on the excavations at San Antonio de Calaceite. Cabré was a member of the Real Academia de la Historia and received the Encomienda de la Orden Civil de Alfonso X el Sabio in 1945.
