Justus Köhncke is a German techno producer and pop musician from Cologne, born in 1966. He is known for his unique blend of minimal techno with disco and Krautrock elements. As a member of the house trio Whirlpool Productions, along with Hans Nieswandt and Eric D. Clark, he had a number one hit in Italy in 1997 with their house track "From Disco to Disco".
Since 1999, Köhncke has released tracks on the Cologne label Kompakt. His music is characterized by its minimal techno and Krautrock elements, which set him apart from other artists in the genre. In addition to his work with Whirlpool Productions, Köhncke has collaborated with other notable artists, including Andreas Dorau, Dirk von Lowtzow of Tocotronic, and Irmin Schmidt of Can.
