Karen Cecilia Martínez Peralta, also known as Karen Peralta Martínez, is a Colombian artist born in Cartagena in 1979. She is a PhD student in Biology at the University of Pittsburgh, where she works in the Department of Biological Sciences. She has published several scientific articles in the field of animal physiology, microbiome, multiomics, and integrative biology. In addition to her scientific work, she is also a muralist and has created a mural called 'Chalchiutlicue' in 2018. She is also known for her work in the field of animal physiology and microbiome.
