Kumi Machida is a Japanese artist born in 1970 in Japan. She is known for her serene and poetic style, depicting ordinary moments in life. Her work has been exhibited in various galleries and museums, including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, Art Platform Japan, and Google Arts & Culture. Machida has also participated in the Sovereign Asian Art Prize, a visual arts competition in Hong Kong, in 2003. Her artwork 'GentlePeople' was created in 2007 using pigment as the medium.
