Lee, Seahyun, also known as 이세현, is a Korean Asian Modern & Contemporary painter born in Seoul, South Korea in 1967. He studied at Hongik University in Seoul, where he received his undergraduate degree in Western painting in 1989. He then went on to receive his master's degree in Western painting from Hongik University in 2001. In 2006, he received his second master's degree in painting from the Chelsea College of Art and Design in London.
Lee's work often explores the cultural differences and divisions between countries and cultures, as well as the beauty and challenges of the natural world. He is best known for his 'Red Series' of paintings, which feature the demilitarized zone (DMZ) between North and South Korea, and are characterized by their use of the color red. His artistic style is a unique blend of traditional Korean techniques and modern Western influences. Key aspects of Lee's work include his use of bold colors and geometric shapes to convey emotions and ideas. His paintings often feature landscapes and still-life compositions, which are meant to evoke a sense of calm and contemplation.
Lee has exhibited his work in numerous galleries and museums around the world, including the CHOI&CHOI Gallery in Seoul and the Cologne Fine Art Fair in Germany.
