Biography:

Luís Pinto-Coelho was a Portuguese painter of international renown who lived in Spain. Over four decades, he produced a vast and diverse body of work, distinguishing himself as a renowned portraitist. He began his apprenticeship in Lisbon, moved to Madrid in 1961 when his father was appointed ambassador, and started working with the painter Luis García-Ochoa. Pinto-Coelho's creativity extended beyond painting to include ceramics, set design, graphic arts, design, photography, murals, tapestries, etc., making him a versatile artist. His work as a portraitist earned him fame and prestige, with notable subjects including King Juan Carlos, King Simeón of Bulgaria, the Grand Duke of Luxembourg, Prince Albert of Monaco, Sofia of Habsburg, and Isabel Preysler. His works are scattered across over two hundred private collections, museums, and contemporary art foundations worldwide.
