Biography:
Luz del Carmen Magaña Villaseñor is a Mexican artist born in Querétaro, Mexico in 1980. She holds a degree in Visual Arts from the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro, a Master's degree in Visual Arts with a specialization in painting from the Academia de San Carlos of the UNAM, and a Doctorate in Arts from the University of Guanajuato. She has also completed postdoctoral studies at the University of Barcelona with tutor Meri Torras. Magaña's work focuses on the rejection of the objectification of women and the use of the body to reclaim the soul and freedom. She has exhibited her work in various galleries and museums in Mexico and has published articles on art and feminism. She is also a professor of art and has given conferences and workshops on her work and feminist art.
