Biography:
Margarida Tamegão was a Portuguese painter, watercolorist and engraver. She started her art studies at the age of 13 with Spanish painter Ximénes and later with Portuguese artists Fernando Galhano and Abel Santos. Margarida traveled throughout Europe on study tours, during which she drew and painted what she saw. She was part of the artistic movement Gávea, created in the late 60's, in Azores. In her watercolor 'Still Life', we can see her figurative facet, with a still life of autumnal colors representing a branch with oak galls.
