Melchor Pérez Holguín was a Bolivian painter born in Cochabamba in 1660. He was one of the most important painters of Potosí, Bolivia, in his own day and beyond, and was referred to as the 'Golden Brush'. He was known for his attention to detail and his desire to capture the city at its peak. He died in Potosí in 1725.
