Biography:
Michel Basbous was a Lebanese sculptor, born in Deir El Ahmar, Lebanon in 1921. He studied at the Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts in Beirut and later at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Basbous was known for his abstract sculptures, often made of stone or bronze, that were inspired by the human form and the Lebanese landscape. He exhibited his work in Lebanon, France, and other countries, and received numerous awards for his contributions to the art world. Basbous passed away in 1981.
