Biography:
Jeong Hakkyo, also known as Mongin, was a famous painter and calligrapher in the late Joseon Dynasty. He was born in Naju, South Korea in 1832 and died in 1914. Jeong Hakkyo was particularly skilled in the style of 'Calligraphy Couplet(對聯)'. He was also known for his paintings of oddly shaped rocks, such as the one in this artwork.
