Biography:

Imam Bukhari, also known as Muḥammad ibn Ismā‘īl al-Bukhārī, was a famous Hadith expert born in Bukhara, Uzbekistan in 194 AH (810 CE). He is widely regarded as the most important hadith scholar in the history of Sunni Islam, with his work Sahih al-Bukhari being considered the most authentic book after the Holy Quran. Imam Bukhari's father was an Alim (Islamic Scholar) who learned from number of famous scholars including Imam Malik ibn Anas. Imam Bukhari began studying Hadiths while he was still young and completed his initial studies in Bukhara. He then traveled to Makkah at the age of 18 and stayed there, studying Hadith and the biography of all the narrators who take part in a transmission of Hadith. Imam Bukhari's Sahih al-Bukhari is revered as the most important hadith collection in Sunni Islam and is part of the Kutub al-Sittah, the six most highly regarded collections of hadith in Sunni Islam.
