Biography:
Nicolò Bettoli was an Italian architect born on September 3, 1780, in Parma and died on July 16, 1854. He trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Parma and became a prominent figure during the reign of Marie Louise, Duchess of Parme. Bettoli is best known for designing the Teatro Regio di Parma (1821) and other major public works commissioned by the duchess. In addition to his architectural achievements, he also taught at the local Academy of Arts from 1816 onwards.
