Biography:
Nicolas Leclerc, Jean de Saint Priest et Jean Lepère were French artists who created the Medal of Louis XII of France and Anne of Brittany in 1499. The medal was made of bronze and features the obverse and reverse of the two monarchs. The original of this medal was modeled and coul ed in Lyon in honor of the visit of Louis XII and Anne of Brittany to the city. The consuls of Lyon had commissioned Nicolas Leclerc and Jean de Saint-Priest, 'maîtres es arts' and 'orfèvres jurés', to create the medal. Jean Lepère, a goldsmith, was also involved in its creation. The medal is considered a masterpiece of French Renaissance art.
