Biography:

Pierre Boulat was a French photographer and photojournalist. He began his career after World War II, working for the journal Samedi Soir. In 1955, he became the first Western journalist to enter the Soviet Union. During the 1950s and 1960s, he photographed global news, Parisian life, politics, and film artists. Boulat was a collaborator with international magazines such as Elle, Paris Match, Life, National Geographic, and People. He worked independently from 1973 until his death in 1998. His daughter, Alexandra Boulat, is also a photojournalist and reporter.
