Biography:

Raj Kumar Das is a painter from Bangladesh, who worked in collaboration with Gaffar Workshop, a rickshaw making company. Together, they created a unique and colorful rickshaw in 1994, which is now part of the collection of the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum in Japan. The rickshaw is made of tricycle with enamel paint, vinyl, bamboo, tin, metal, and a photograph. The design of the rickshaw is inspired by the folk paintings of Bengal District and various posters and calendars. The rickshaw features scenes from rural and urban lifestyles, as well as images of cute animals, mosques, women in prayer, political leaders, and movie stars, according to the customer's request.
